About Desert Golf Academy

The Desert Golf Academy has been inspired and created by golf professional Wayne Hachey. Wayne began his professional golfing career at the Osoyoos Golf Club in 1984 and worked as an assistant professional under Dean Atkinson during this time. After successful completion of his CPGA head professional program Wayne then travelled to Germany to work as a Head Professional at Golf Club Erlangen for 5 years.

In 1997 Wayne then created the EPD Tour (www.epdtour.com) and helped develop many of the top European Tour stars you see today, such as 2010 PGA Champion and 2014 US Open Champion and one of todays top players, Martin Kaymer.

From 2008 to 2011 Wayne developed 2 of the strongest winter tours in Europe, the Hi5 Pro Tour (www.hi5protour.com) where during the 2010 European Tour School, the Hi5 Pro Tour proudly produced 13 out of 30 players who advanced to the main European Tour. And since 2012 Wayne along with his partner Ron Hart launched the Evolve Pro Tour (www.evolveprotour.com), which prepares the “next generation” of top professional golfers.

The main focus of the Desert Golf Academy is to bring these years of experience Wayne has gathered through his close association with many top players in the world of golf and pass on this knowledge to the students of the Desert Golf Academy.
